Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2001 🢒 Montana Ext. 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Body Rear End 🢒 Liftgate Wiring Harness Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear speakers from the liftgate. Refer to Radio Rear Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  6. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  7. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
  8. Remove the rear washer hose. Refer to Rear Window Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wipers/ Washer Systems.
  9. Remove the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer to Upper Rear Trim Finish Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    10. Object Number: 313629 Size: LH
  10. Disconnect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) from the rear body wiring harness (3).

    11. Object Number: 313631 Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector (7).
  12. Disconnect the rear window defogger electrical connectors (3).
  13. Release the wiring harness retainers from the liftgate.
  14. Remove the wiring harness from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure
  1. Route the wiring harness in the liftgate.
  2. Install the wiring harness retainers into the liftgate.

    3. Object Number: 313631 Size: SH
  3. Connect the rear window defogger electrical connectors (3)
  4. Connect the rear wiper motor electrical connector (7).

    5. Object Number: 313629 Size: LH
  5. Connect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).
  6. Install the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer to Upper Rear Trim Finish Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the rear washer hose. Refer to Rear Window Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wipers/ Washer Systems.
  8. Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors
  9. Install the license plate lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems
  10. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  11. Install the rear speakers to the liftgate. Refer to Radio Rear Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  12. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  13. Close the liftgate.
  14. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
