The internal fault detection is handled by the driver information center (DIC).
The DIC monitors the analog input value once every ignition cycle at power up.
The DIC does not detect the compass sensor. This may be due to a faulty sensor that is not connected to the DIC.
The DTC will be set and stored in non-volatile memory.
• | The DTC will become history when a power cycle has been performed and the fault is not detected by the DIC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 fault free ignition cycles. |
• | A scan tool may be used to clear the DTC. |
If this DTC is retrieved as both a Current and a History DTC, replace the DIC.
