When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment that there is standing water laying at the base of the rear side swing-out window glass weatherstrips.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Remove the stationary glass.
  2. Remove the weatherstrip.
  3. Using a razor blade, remove 20 mm (3/4 in) long by 2 mm (3/16 in) deep piece from the tip of the weatherstrip.
  4. Reinstall the weatherstrip so that the parting line (joint) on the weatherstrip is at the lowest most forward location of the door glass opening.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
