When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

This PI is intended to introduce a new sit and lift seat option, AQW, on the 2004 Chevrolet Venture, Pontiac Montana, and Oldsmobile Silhouette. This seat is an assist for handicapped or other challenged individuals, used to aide in their entry and exit of the vehicle. The seat is planned as an option on the 2004 model year. and an accessory that can be added back to the 2002 model year. This is a second row Rh side passenger seat location. Information, operation and diagnosis can be found in SI document # 1385879 or in SI under seats. This option is available on extended wheel base only.

Recommendation/Instructions:

When the dealer receives a seat as an accessory to be installed they will also receive an installation guide and owner manual that will explain all the uses and operations as well as installation and test procedures. Many but not all replacement parts are available through GMSPO. Rudimentary diagnostics are available and codes pulled using the door jamb switch. Please refer to SI for further information under diagnostic system check.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
