Modes of Operation
Automatic Door Locks
The following are the modes of operation for the automatic door locks:
| The automatic door locks feature is disabled. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition
ON. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition
ON. All of the doors unlock when the ignition is turned OFF. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition
ON. All of the doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK. |
Content Theft Deterrent
The following are the modes of operation for the content theft deterrent:
| The content theft deterrent system utilizes damage detection with reduced sensitivity. |
| The content theft deterrent damage detection is disabled. |
| The content theft deterrent system is always disarmed. |
| The content theft deterrent system utilizes damage detection with normal sensitivity. |
Content Theft Deterrent Arming/Disarming
The following are the modes of operation for the content theft deterrent arming/disarming
feature:
| The content theft deterrent arms when the vehicle is locked using the keyless
entry transmitter and disarms when the vehicle is unlocked using the keys or
the transmitter. |
| The content theft deterrent arms when the vehicle is locked using the keyless
entry transmitter and disarms when the vehicle is unlocked using the transmitter. |
| The content theft deterrent arms when the vehicle is locked using the power
door lock switch or the keyless entry transmitter and disarms when the vehicle
is unlocked using the key in the lock cylinder or the transmitter. |
Delayed Illumination and Exit Lighting
The following are the modes of operation for the delayed illumination and exit
lighting features:
| Both the delayed illumination and the exit lighting features are disabled. |
| Only the delayed illumination feature is enabled. |
| Only the exit lighting feature is enabled. |
| Both the delayed illumination and the exit lighting features are enabled. |
Delayed Locking and Lockout Prevention
The following are the modes of operation for the delayed locking and the lockout
prevention features:
| Both the delayed locking and the lockout prevention features are disabled. |
| The lockout prevention feature is enabled only. |
| The delayed locking feature is enabled only. |
| Both the delayed locking and the lockout prevention features are enabled. |
Remote Activation Verification
The following are the modes of operation for the remote activation verification
for the keyless entry system:
| The remote activation verification feature is disabled. |
| The headlamps flash when the LOCK button or the UNLOCK button on the keyless
entry transmitter is pressed. |
| The headlamps flash and the horn chirps when the LOCK button on the keyless
entry transmitter is pressed. The headlamps flash when the UNLOCK button on
the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. |
| The headlamps flash when the LOCK button or the UNLOCK button on the keyless
entry transmitter is pressed. The headlamps flash and the horn chirps when
the LOCK button is pressed a second time (within 5 seconds of the first press). |
Remote Unlock Control
The following are the modes of operation for the remote unlock control for
the keyless entry system:
| All of the doors unlock when the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter
is pressed. |
| The driver door unlocks when the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter
is pressed once. All of the doors unlock when the UNLOCK button on the transmitter
is pressed a second time. |
Programming Features
Enter Programming Mode
Perform the following steps in order to enter the programming mode:
- The optional content theft deterrent system must be disarmed.
- With the ignition in the OFF position, remove the BCM PRGRM fuse, close
the driver door.
- Turn the ignition to the ACC position.
- Listen to the number of chimes. The chimes indicate the BCM type (2,
3, or 4) and therefore the features that may be personalized.
Automatic Door Locks
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic door
locks:
- Press and release the any power door lock switch. Count the number of
chimes in order to determine the current mode.
- Press any power door lock switch again in order to advance to the next
mode. The chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the mode.
- Continue to press any power door lock switch until you reach the desired
mode.
Content Theft Deterrent
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the content theft
deterrent:
- Cycle the park lamps (ON then OFF). Count the number of chimes in order
to determine the current mode.
- Cycle the park lamps again in order to advance to the next mode. The
chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the mode.
- Continue to cycle the park lamps until you reach the desired mode.
Content Theft Deterrent Arming/Disarming
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the content theft
deterrent arming/disarming:
- Insert a second key into any door lock cylinder.
- Rotate the key to the UNLOCK position and hold for 1 second. Count
the number of chimes in order to determine the current mode.
- Rotate the key again or press the Panic button on vehicles equipped with
keyless entry in order to advance to the next mode. The chime will sound the
number of times equivalent to the mode.
- Continue to rotate the key or press the Panic button until you reach
the desired mode.
- Remove the key from the door lock cylinder.
Delayed Illumination and Exit Lighting
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed illumination
and the exit lighting features:
- Turn the courtesy lamps on by turning the instrument panel brightness
control all the way to the DOME position. Count the number of chimes in order
to determine the current mode.
- Turn the courtesy lamps to the DOME position again in order to advance
to the next mode. The chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the
mode.
- Continue to cycle the courtesy lamps until you reach the desired mode.
Delayed Locking and Lockout Prevention
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed locking
and the lockout prevention features:
- Press the power door unlock switch. Count the number of chimes in order
to determine the current mode.
- Press the power door unlock switch again in order to advance to the next
mode. The chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the mode.
- Continue to press the power door unlock switch until you reach the desired
mode.
Remote Activation Verification (if equipped with Keyless Entry)
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote activation
verification for the remote keyless entry:
- Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter. Count the number
of chimes in order to determine the current mode.
- Press the LOCK button on the transmitter again in order to advance to
the next mode. The chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the
mode.
- Continue to press the LOCK button until you reach the desired mode.
Remote Unlock Control (if equipped with Keyless Entry)
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote unlock
control for the remote keyless entry:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter. Count the number
of chimes in order to determine the current mode.
- Press the UNLOCK button on the transmitter again in order to advance
to the next mode. The chime will sound the number of times equivalent to the
mode.
- Continue to press the UNLOCK button until you reach the desired mode.
Exit Programming
Continue with the following steps in order to exit the programming mode:
- Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
- Replace the BCM PRGRM fuse.
