1. Loss of video picture during mobile entertainment system auxiliary play.

2. Degraded video picture during mobile entertainment system auxiliary play.

Circuit/System Description

The auxiliary video signal and auxiliary video ground circuits are outputs from the mobile entertainment player module. These circuits carry the mobile entertainment auxiliary video signals to the disc player and video display.

Diagnostic Aids

This diagnostic assumes that the video quality is good while playing a DVD or during play of a video source through the mobile entertainment system. This diagnostic also assumes that the video quality is poor or non-existent only during mobile entertainment system auxiliary play. Be sure to check for these conditions. Be sure that there is an auxiliary video source available to play via the mobile entertainment auxiliary system.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Turn the radio on. Select the mobile entertainment auxiliary system as the source.
  3. Play a video source on the mobile entertainment auxiliary system.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Be sure to test the disk player and video display for acceptable video operation.
  2. Ignition off, test the auxiliary video signal for an open, short to ground or short to voltage.
  3. Test the auxiliary video ground circuit for an open or short to voltage.
  4. If the circuits test normal, test or replace the mobile entertainment player module.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the disk player and video display .
