Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Montana SV6 Ext. 🢒 Diagnostic Navigation 🢒 Vehicle Diagnostic Information 🢒 Ignition and Start Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
  3. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.
  4. Remove the theft deterrent module from the lock cylinder housing. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1540116 Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws (2) from the ignition switch (1).
  6. Remove the ignition switch (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case.
  7. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1540116 Size: SH
  1. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector.
  2. Install the ignition switch (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the screws (2) to the ignition switch (1) and tighten to 1.25 N·m (11 lb in).
  4. Install the theft deterrent module to the lock cylinder housing. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement.
  5. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.
  6. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
  7. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
