Shock Absorber Replacement for Pontiac Montana SV6 Ext. 2009

Shock Absorber Replacement Twist Axle

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Support the rear axle.
3. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic level control, disconnect the air tube connector from the shock absorber.



4. Remove the shock absorber upper bolt and nut.
5. Remove the shock absorber lower bolt and nut.
6. Remove the shock absorber.

1. Install the shock absorber.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the shock absorber bolts and nuts and tighten to 85 N·m (63 lb ft) .
3. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic level control, install the air tube connector to the shock absorber.
4. Remove the support from the rear axle.
5. Lower the vehicle.
