  1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  2. Make sure the rear parking assist on/off switch is in the on position.

Do the rear parking assist indicators turn on for 2 seconds and then turn off after bulb check?

Test the control circuit of the headlamp switch for a short to B+ or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Place the key in the ignition switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the ignition key warning switch at the body control module (BCM) and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Open the LF door.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the LF side door lock at the BCM and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Test for an open or a short to B+ in the control circuit of the ignition key warning switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for an open or a short to B+ in the control circuit of the LF side door lock. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the control circuit of the headlamp switch for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM connector C2. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the control circuit of the ignition key warning switch for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM connector C2 and the ignition key warning switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the control circuit of the LF side door lock for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM connector C2 and the LF side door lock. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
