Removal Procedure
- Remove the oil indicator from the filler tube.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
- Remove the retaining nut
from the EGR at the top of the filler tube.
- Remove the lower retaining bolt at the base of the filler tube.
- Remove the fluid filler tube.
- Remove the fluid filler
tube seal.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do NOT place the fluid filler tube seal on the fluid filler tube when
installing the tube or damage to the seal will result.
- Install the fluid filler
tube seal in the transaxle.
- Position the fluid filler tube into the transaxle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fluid
filler tube bracket bolt through the fluid filler tube bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 13 N·m (115 lb in).
- At the top of the filler tube Install the retaining nut to the
filler tube the EGR at the top of the filler tube.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
- Inspect for proper fluid level.
- Inspect for fluid leaks.
