COMPACT BELT TENSION GAGE USE WHERE LACK OF SPACE

A NEW COMPACT BELT TENSION GAGE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR USE ON TRAVERSE ENGINES OR ON APPLICATIONS WHERE A LACK OF SPACE PREVENTS THE USE OF THE CURRENT BELT TENSION GAGES J-23600 OR BT-7825. THIS NEW GAGE EMPLOYS A SELF-COCKING TRIGGER MECHANISM WHICH ALLOWS THE USER TO APPLY THE GAGE WHERE SPACE IS LIMITED. ONCE THE GAGE IS ON THE BELT, PUSH THE TRIGGER TO RELEASE, AND THE POINTER READS POUNDS TENSION DIRECTLY ON THE BODY OF THE GAGE. THIS GAGE CAN BE OBTAINED THROUGH KENT-MOORE J-29550, OR THROUGH BORROUGHS TOOL AND EQUIPMENT CORPORATION BT-33-79.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
