POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 Pontiac Parisienne, Parisienne Brougham, and Caprice Classic Vehicles Equipped With LM1

GM of Canada has recently made available a limited number of specially equipped Pontiac Parisienne, Parisienne Brougham, and Caprice Classic vehicles.

These vehicles are heavily equipped with special equipment such as the LM1 5.7L V8 engine, heavy duty suspension, brakes, transmission cooling, and generators.

All service parts and procedures currently in place for Canadian Chevrolet Police Pursuit Vehicles (5.7L engine) in the 1985 Chevrolet Parts Catalogue and 1985 Canadian Service Manual Supplement are applicable except:

1) No A.I.R. system components or catalytic converter are required

2) The emission hose harness required is P/N 52352296 (not P/N 52353044)

3) The tune-up label required is P/N 52355297 (not P/N 14100953)

4) Transmission internal wiring and pressure switch have been revised to provide clutch engagement in 4th gear only. The pressure switch required is P/N 8643710 (not P/N 8642346) and is installed into 4th signal bore per the attached diagram.
