GENERAL MOTORS PARTS DIVISION WILL BEGIN SHIPPING AN INITIAL QUANTITY (APPROXIMATELY 35% OF EACH DEALER'S REQUIREMENTS) OF TRANSMISSION COOLER HOSE REPLACEMENT KITS (PART NUMBER 25506423) TO DEALERS BEGINNING OCTOBER 15, 1979. THE KITS ARE BEING SHIPPED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE BASED ON THE VIN PRINTOUTS PREVIOUSLY FURNISHED WITH THE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN. DEALERS WITH: 1,2 OR 3 CARS TO CORRECT - WILL RECEIVE 100% OF THEIR REQUIREMENT 4 OR MORE CARS TO CORRECT - WILL RECEIVE 35% OF THEIR REQUIREMENT: BUT NO LESS THAN 3 KITS.
DEALERS WITH 5 OR LESS CARS TO CORRECT ARE BEING SHIPPED ALL OF THE KITS THAT WILL BE PRORATED TO THEM DURING THIS PROGRAM. THOSE DEALERS WITH 6 OR MORE CARS TO CORRECT WILL RECEIVE A SECOND SHIPMENT OF ADDITIONAL PARTS, REPRESENTING 75% OF THEIR TOTAL REQUIREMENTS, AS KITS BECOME AVAILABLE ON OR ABOUT OCTOBER 30, 1979. AFTER ALL DEALERS HAVE RECEIVED KITS EQUAL TO 75% OF THE TOTAL REQUIREMENTS, GM PARTS DIVISION WILL PROCESS ORDERS FOR ADDITIONAL PARTS.
IN THE INTERIM, THIS PRESHIP PROGRAM SHOULD ELIMINATE ANY REQUIREMENTS FOR DEALER ORDERS.
IN SCHEDULING VEHICLE REPAIRS UNDER THIS CAMPAIGN, DEALERS SHOULD KEEP THIS LIMITED PARTS SCHEDULE IN MIND.
PONTIAC MOTOR DIVISION BEGAN SENDING NOTIFICATION LETTER TO OWNERS WHOSE ADDRESSES WERE KNOWN ON OCTOBER 3, 1979. IN THE LETTER, OWNERS WERE ADVISED THAT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON OR AFTE OCTOBER 22, 1979.
