SOME CITATIONS AND CELEBRITYS EQUIPPED WITH THE 2.8L ENGINE MAY EXHIBIT A RATTLE TYPE NOISE FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THE RATTLE USUALLY OCCURS AT OR JUST ABOVE IDLE SPEED. THIS CONDITION CAN BE CORRECTED BY THE INSTALLATION OF A BRACE (SEE FIGURE 1 FOR DETAILS). INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: 1. RAISE HOOD AND DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. 2.ALLOW ENGINE TO COOL THEN REMOVE AND REINSTALL RADIATOR CAP TO RELIEVE SYSTEM PRESSURE. 3.REMOVE BOLT FROM WATER PUMP (REFER TO FIGURE 1). 4.REMOVE BOLT FROM POWER STEERING PUMP (REFER TO FIGURE 1). 5.INSTALL SEALER P/N 1052080 OR EQUIVALENT ON THE THREADS (CYLINDER BLOCK END) OF STUD P/N 14054894. INSTALL STUD AND TORQUE TO 34 N.M (25 LBS. FT.). 6.INSTALL BRACE P/N 14054893 WITH SLOTTED HOLE OVER STUD. 7.ATTACH BRACE TO POWER STEERING PUMP WITH BOLT P/N 11502788 AND TORQUE TO 34 N.M (25 LBS. FT.). 8.INSTALL NUT P/N 11502812 ON STUD AND TORQUE TO 34 N.M (25 LBS. FT. ). 9.REFILL WITH COOLANT AND RECONNECT BATTERY CABLE. ILLUSTRATION
