1983 THM 125-C MODEL "CB" AND "HY" TRANSMISSION, MAY EXPERIENCE A CONDITION WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WILL START OUT IN SECOND GEAR. BEGINNING WITH TRANSMISSION SERIAL NUMBERS 83-CB-29352 AND 83-HY-3199, ALL "CB" AND "HY" MODEL THM 125-C TRANSMISSION ARE NOW BEING PRODUCED WITH A GOVERNOR ASSEMBLY THAT HAS THE PRIMARY SPRING REMOVED. WHEN SERVICING ANY 1983 THM 125-C "CB" OR "HY" MODEL TRANSMISSION BUILT PRIOR TO THE ABOVE SERIAL NUMBERS, WITH A SECOND GEAR START CONDITION, REFER TO THE FOLLOWING SERVICE PROCEDURE: SERVICE PROCEDURE-- REFER TO THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR PROPER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES: 1. REMOVE THE GOVENOR ASSEMBLY FROM THE TRANSMISSION. 2. REMOVE THE PRIMARY SPRING FROM THE GOVENOR ASSEMBLY (FIGURE 1) 3. REINSTALL THE GOVENOR ASSEMBLY.
