Each of the following courses of action requires a setup or programming procedure before the body control module (BCM) can be put into normal service.
If the BCM is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the subsequent order:
• | BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. |
• | Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. |
If the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
• | BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. |
• | Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. |
If the BCM is reprogrammed, the following procedures must be performed:
• | BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. |
• | Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. |
If the BCM or the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced the programming for the replaced module must be performed before the programming of the theft deterrent system. Refer to the following:
• | BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. |
• | PCM Reprogramming--Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) . |
