New Product Information for all 1989 THM 200-4R transmissions. The information contained in this bulletin describes changes that have occurred in the 1989 THM 200-4R transmission. Refer to each section of this bulletin for specific product change information.
DATE OF PRODUCTION CHANGE: (Figure 1) -------------------------- Beginning with 1989 Start of Production, all 1989 THM 200-4R transmissions were built with the product changes explained in this bulletin.
Changes listed in this bulletin as "Service Manual Update" will note changes made since publication of the 1989 Service Manual and should be noted in your 1989 Service Manual accordingly.
Other changes described in this bulletin are included in your 1989 THM 200-4R Service Manual Sections. Be certain to familiarize yourself with these changes to properly service the 1989 THM 200-4R transmission.
This information (Figures 2 and 3) has been updated since publication of the 1989 Service Manual. Use this information to update the 1989 THM 200-4R Automatic Transmission Diagnosis Section.
TRANSMISSION MODELS: CTF, CUF
Beginning with the 1989 model year the CTF and CUF 200-4R models were built with a new solenoid assembly (refer to Figure 4). The new solenoid assembly no longer uses the 4-3 pulse switch. The new solenoid assembly, listed under "Service Parts Information", should be used when servicing any 1989 CTF or CUF models.
