Important: Always perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
When the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced, software and calibrations are flash programmed into the EBCM. The EBCM receives the vehicle power-train options information from the power-train control module (PCM) in order for the EBCM to automatically calibrate to the vehicle.
The ignition switch is in the ON position.
The incorrect EBCM is installed on the vehicle.
The incorrect software or calibrations have been flash programmed into the EBCM.
One or more of the following actions may occur:
• | The Antilock Brake System (ABS) dynamic rear proportion (DRP) are disabled. |
• | The ABS indicators turn ON. |
• | The red BRAKE Warning indicator turns ON. |
• | The condition for the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles. |
⇒ | If the EBCM is not correct, replace the EBCM. |
⇒ | Reprogram the EBCM. |
Important: Always perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
