Subject: NEW VEHICLE INSPECTION MATERIAL ALLOWANCE - 1991 VEHICLES

Effectively immediately, dealers can submit for material (oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, etc.) used to "top off" fluid levels during the predelivery inspection.

The dollar amount for these materials should be entered in the net amount field on the warranty claim. The processing system will automatically add the fuel allowance to the material amount submitted and reflect payment for the total of both in the net amount field on the dealer's credit memorandum.

Previously, dealers have been instructed to submit predelivery claims with failure Code 97, Claim Type I, and Labor Operation Z7000 in addition to the baseline information (R.O. Number, Miles, R.O. Date and VIN) as illustrated below:

This new procedure for recovering costs for fluids used in the completion of predelivery inspections should be shared with all personnel involved with claims processing.
