A 1982-1984 THM 125C transaxel may exhibit a horsh Park/Neutral to Drive engagement. Refer to Figure 1 for transaxel identification information.
At the start of production (SOP) 1985, all THM 125C transaxels were built with a new forward clutch assembly. This change eliminated the check ball in the forward clutch housing (Figure 2, Item 624--arrow indicates check ball location) and provided bleed orfices in the forward clutch piston assembly (Figure 2, Item 629).
The new forward clutch housing (Part Number 8653977) is used to service all 1982-1984 THM 125C models. THe new forward clutch piston and seal package (Part Number 8637973) must be installed when replacing clutch housing)
