COASTDOWN WHINE NOISE REPLACE TRANSAXLE STRUT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985-86 "J" MODEL WITH 2.8L (LB6) ENGINE (VIN CODE W) AND 125C TRANSAXLE

Some 1985-86 "J" models with 2.8L engine and 125C transaxle may exhibit an objectionable coastdown whine from 80 Kph to 32 Kph. The noise may be most audible at 40-48 Kph. To minimize this condition, replace the transaxle strut with a 1987 strut assembly part number 14106640. See figure.
