STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT INCORRECT PART INFORMATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-88 SUNBIRD

In the event a steering column must be replaced in a 1987-88 J car, use the part numbers listed below:

1987 1988 ---- ---- 7844369 26006871 J with manual transmission, pulse wiper, and tilt wheel

7844367 26006872 J with automatic transmission, pulse wiper, and tilt wheel

7844371 26006873 J with automatic transmission, pulse wiper, without tilt wheel

7844373 26006874 J with manual transmission, pulse wiper, without tilt wheel

DO NOT use the 1987 or 1988 part numbers listed in group 6 of the parts book as these will create a "phantom wipe" problem.
