A/C COMPRESSOR SHAFT SEAL LEAK NEW SEAL CLUTCH PLATE ASSEMBLY

Models 1989 SUNBIRD, 1989 GRAND AM W/AC 2.OL Affected: TURBO

Application:

1989 Sunbird models with A/C and 2.0L Turbo LT3 (Vin M) 1989 Grand Am models with A/C and 2.0L Turbo LT3 (Vin M)

When A/C compressors exhibit a refrigerant leak at the shaft during the above vehicles warranty period, the following repairs are recommended:

1. Replace leaking shaft seal.

2. Replace original clutch plate and hub assembly with a new clutch plate and hub assembly, P/N 3092084. Refer to Figure 1.

Parts are currently available through GMSPO.

This replacement clutch plate and hub assembly incorporates a composite torque cushion which will increase customer satisfaction by extending the life of the shaft seal.

IMPORTANT: This repair procedure is only recommended for 2.OL Turbo applications.
