INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION & ROUGH IDLE (NEW P/N RELEASED)

SUBJECT: INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION/ROUGH IDL (INSTALL NEW P, C, V HOSE)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 PONTIAC SUNBIRD WITH 2.OL ENGINE (VIN CODE H)

Condition:

--------- Some owners of 1992 Pontiac Sunbird cars with 2.OL engines (VIN code H) may comment of less-than-acceptable engine oil consumption and/or a warm engine idle surge.

Cause:

----- The P.C.V. hose may collapse under vacuum allowing oil to be drawn into the intake manifold through the breather pipe.

Correction:

---------- Install a new P.C.V. hose. Part # 93211177.
