Inspection Procedure

  1. Pull up and down on the transaxle case while observing the front lower transaxle mount.
  2. Replace a mount when the following conditions occur:
  3. • The rubber separates from the metal case
    • The metal case moves up
  4. If there is movement between the metal plate of the mount and its attaching point, tighten the mount bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Install J 28467-360
  3. Raise the transaxle enough to take pressure off of the motor mounts.

  4. Remove the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Remove the left front splash shield.

  7. Remove the front transaxle mount bolts.
  8. Remove the front transaxle mount.

  9. Object Number: 104489  Size: SH
  10. Remove the rear transaxle mount bolts.
  11. Remove the rear transaxle mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104484  Size: SH
  1. Install the front transaxle mount.
  2. Install the front transaxle mount bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  4. Install the rear transaxle mount.
  5. Install the rear transaxle mount bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  7. Install the left front splash shield.
  8. Install the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Remove J 28467-360
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
