Headlamps Inoperative - Left High Beam Chevrolet

Did you perform the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) System Check?

  1. Place the turn/hazard headlamps switch assembly into the HIGH position.
  2. Disconnect the daytime running lamps (DRL) relay connector.
  3. Connect the test lamp between terminal 87A of the DRL harness connector and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect the fused jumper between terminal 87A and terminal 30 of the DRL relay harness connector.

Does the left high beam headlamp operate?

Go to Step  5

Repair the open in CKT 740 between the fuse block and the DRL relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the DRL relay.

  1. Reconnect the DRL relay connector.
  2. Disconnect the left composite headlamp assembly connector.
  3. Connect the test lamp between terminal A of the left composite headlamp assembly harness connector and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the left composite headlamp assembly.

Repair the open in CKT 593 between the DRL relay and the left composite headlamp assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
