Condition

Some customers may comment that the left outside breakaway mirror is inoperative.

Cause

The mirror may have been over-extended causing the control arm to jump out of the track.

Correction

Important: This information can be found in the Owner's Manual from 2000 through 2005

If the mirror control lever is unable to operate the mirror adjustment, reset the adjustment lever on the driver side only by following these steps:

  1. Roll down the driver's door window.
  2. Fold the mirror toward the front of the vehicle. Hold the mirror in position with your left hand.

  3. Object Number: 1272858  Size: SH
  4. With your right hand, move the adjustment lever handle (inside the vehicle) in order to align the T end of the lever with the lever slide. Refer to the illustration above.
  5. Fold the mirror back to the original position in order to engage the T end of the lever with the lever slide.
  6. Ensure the mirror housing is fully seated to its base.
