Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement Chevrolet

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
3. Remove the end caps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
4. Remove the screws from under the end caps.
5. Open the instrument panel compartment.
6. Remove the screws for the glove box trim plate and accessory trim plate.

Notice: Always ensure that you install the screws for the glove box bracket using the proper torque in order to avoid a rattle condition.

7. Remove the screws from the bracket in the upper left corner of the glove box.
8. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .



9. Remove all of the hex head screws (1) attaching the instrument panel trim pad (2).
10. Remove the instrument panel trim pad (2) from the instrument panel.

1. Install the pad (2) to the instrument panel.
2. Install the hex head screws (1) attaching the trim pad (2) to the instrument panel.
3. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
4. Install the screws to the accessory trim plate and glove box trim plate.

Notice: Always ensure that you install the screws for the glove box bracket using the proper torque in order to avoid a rattle condition.

5. Install the screws through the upper left corner of the glove box.
6. Install the screws under the end caps.
7. Install the end caps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
8. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement Pontiac

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
3. Remove the instrument panel valance.
4. Remove the end caps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
5. Remove the screws from under the end caps.
6. Open the instrument panel compartment.
7. Remove the retaining screws for the glove box trim plate and the accessory trim plate.

Notice: Always ensure that you install the screws for the glove box bracket using the proper torque in order to avoid a rattle condition.

8. Remove the screws from the bracket in the upper left corner of the glove box.
9. Remove the accessory trim plate.



10. Remove all of the screws (1) attaching the instrument panel trim pad (2).
11. Remove the instrument panel trim pad (2) from the instrument panel.

1. Install the pad (2) to the instrument panel.
2. Install the screws (1) attaching the trim pad (2) to the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lob in).

3. Install the accessory trim plate.
4. Install the screws to the accessory trim plate and the glove box trim plate.

Notice: Always ensure that you install the screws for the glove box bracket using the proper torque in order to avoid a rattle condition.

5. Install the screws through the upper left corner of the glove box.
6. Install the screws under the end caps.
7. Install the end caps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
8. Install the instrument panel valance.
9. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
