Removal Procedure

  1. Position the driver or the passenger front seat assembly forward or rearward in order to gain access to the seat adjuster attaching nuts (3).
  2. Remove the seat adjuster nuts (3) and stud covers  (2).
  3. Disconnect the seat belt wire harness on the driver's side only.
  4. Remove the driver or passenger front seat.
  5. Remove the seat recliner cover bolts (6).
  6. Remove the seat recliner cover (7).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat recliner cover (7).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Do not strip the bolt by overtightening.

  3. Install the seat recliner cover screws (6).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to the screw's fully driven and seated position.

  5. Install the driver or the passenger front seat.
  6. Connect the seat belt wire harness on the driver's side only.
  7. Position the driver or the passenger front seat assembly full forward in order to gain access to the seat adjuster rear attaching nuts (3).
  8. Important: Do not dump seat back forward on coupe E-Z entry during this step.

  9. Tighten the seat adjuster nuts (3).
  10. Hand tighten the nuts.

  11. Push the seat to the full rearward position.
  12. Verify that both lock bars are engaged in the most forward adjustment same notch on both of the seat adjusters.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the rear nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  14. Install the stud cover (2).
