    Object Number: 20704 Size: SH
  1. Apply GM P/N 12345382 to line pressure plug (405).

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Hand start and install the line pressure plug (405) into the case cover (401) before you tighten the plug.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).

  3. Apply thread sealant GM P/N 12345382 to the vent (404).

    4. Object Number: 20706 Size: SH
  4. On some models, use a soft mallet in order to tap the vent (404) into the case cover (401).

    5. Object Number: 20707 Size: SH
  5. When installing the elbow style vent (404), use a 5 mm (3/16 in) pin punch in order to tap the vent (404) into the case cover (401). Tap on the vent flange until the flange contacts the case cover.
