Heater Inlet Hose Replacement LN2

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L (LN2).
  3. Reposition the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L (LN2).
  4. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.

  6. Disconnect the inlet heater hoses from the inlet heater pipe.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  8. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.

  9. Object Number: 636737  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
  11. Remove the inlet heater hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 636736  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet heater hose to the vehicleUse theJ 38185 .
  2. Connect the inlet heater hose to the inlet heater pipe. Ensure that the hose clamps are secured.

  3. Object Number: 636737  Size: SH
  4. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core. Ensure the hose clamps are secured.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Reposition and install the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L (LN2).
  7. Install the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L (LN2).
  8. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Heater Inlet Hose Replacement LD9

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 292739  Size: SH
  3. Squeeze the tabs on the quick-connect (3) in order to disconnect the heater hose (1) from the heater pipe (4).
  4. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the inlet pipe.
  5. Use theJ 38185 to disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 292739  Size: SH
  1. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core.
  2. Connect the inlet heater hose (1) to the heater pipe quick-connect (3).
  3. Pull on the hose in order to verify the connection.

  4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 786506  Size: SH
  3. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.
  4. Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet port of the engine.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  6. Use theJ 38185 to disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the inlet heater hose (2) to the inlet port of the heater core.
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Connect the inlet heater hose to the inlet port of the engine.
  4. Use theJ 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.
  5. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
