  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the cable retaining clip (2).
  9. Tighten
Tighten the retaining clip to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Object Number: 14159 Size: SH
  12. Install the accelerator cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal assembly (2) and snap into place.
  13. Important: Flexible components, such as hoses, wires, conduits, etc., must not be routed within 50 mm (2.0 in) of moving parts of the accelerator linkage outboard of the support unless the routing is positively controlled.

  14. Inspect for correct opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Ensure that the throttle valve reaches wide open throttle (WOT) position. If the throttle valve does not open properly, inspect for damaged or bent brackets, levers, or other components. Also inspect for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
