- Visually inspect the adjuster actuator spring (4) for the following:
- If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system adjuster hardware requires replacement.
- Inspect the adjuster assemblies (1, 2, 3) for the following:
- If any of the conditions listed were found, the adjuster actuator lever and/or attaching hardware requires replacement.

| • | Excessive stretching |
| • | Broken hook ends |
| • | Twisting or binding |
| • | Binding motion and/or a seized condition |
| • | Damaged and/or excessively worn adjustment teeth |
| • | Damaged and/or excessively worn anchor slots |
