Removal Procedure
- Remove the accessory trim
plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
- Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the IP.
- Disconnect the electrical connections.
- Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
- Disconnect the temperature control cable.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical
connections.
- Connect the temperature control cable.
- Connect the vacuum hoses.
- Install the HVAC control assembly (1) to the IP .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in IP, Gages and Console.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the IP trim plate.

- Remove the HVAC control assembly retaining screws.
- Pull the HVAC control assembly (1) away from the IP.
- Disconnect the electrical connections.
- Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
- Disconnect the temperature control cable.
