Removal Procedure
Notice: Use tape on the tool surface so that you do not damage the paint on
the antenna mast.
- Pull back the rear compartment trim panel to gain access to the antenna.
- Remove the antenna mast (2) from
the antenna base (1).
- Disconnect the antenna lead-in (4) from the antenna base (1).
- Remove the antenna base screws (5) from the bracket on the antenna
base (1).
- Remove the antenna base from the antenna mounting spacer (3)
and the wheelhouse pinchweld flange.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the antenna lead-in (4)
to the antenna base (1).
- Install the antenna base (1) to the antenna mounting spacer (3)
until fully seated while aligning the antenna base bracket to the upper hole in
the pinchweld flange of the inner wheelhouse.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the antenna base screws (5) to the bracket on the antenna base (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the antenna mast (2) to the antenna base (1).
Tighten
Tighten the antenna mast to 1.5 N·m (14 lb in).
- Reposition the rear compartment trim panel.
