Child Seat Restraint System Belt Bracket Replacement for Pontiac Sunfire 2003

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the split folding rear seat back. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
3. Remove the bolts (2) from the child seat latch bracket (1).
4. Remove the bracket (1) from the vehicle.

1. Position the bracket (1) in the vehicle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the child seat latch bracket bolts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).

3. Install the split folding rear seat back. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
4. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
