Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 870613 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 870618 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fuel injector electrical connector.

    3. Object Number: 870623 Size: SH
  3. Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (1).

    4. Object Number: 870626 Size: SH
  4. Remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail.

    5. Important: Visually inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-ring was also removed. If the upper O-ring in not removed, remove the O-ring from the fuel rail assembly.

    Important: If the fuel injector insulator cups are removed from the cylinder head while removing the fuel rail, new insulator cups must be installed.

  5. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-rings.

Installation Procedure

  1. If the fuel injector insulator cups (1) are removed from the cylinder head while removing the fuel rail, new insulator cups must be installed.

    2. Object Number: 870626 Size: SH

    Important: Always install new injector O-rings when servicing the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new injector O-rings with clean engine oil.

  2. Install the O-rings on the fuel injector.
  3. Install the fuel injector .

    4. Object Number: 870623 Size: SH
  4. Install the fuel injector clip (1).

    5. Object Number: 870618 Size: SH
  5. Install the fuel injector electrical connector.

    6. Object Number: 870613 Size: SH
  6. Install the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
