When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Some 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, and Pontiac Sunfire vehicles built with a plant code of 7, (Lordstown) - Initial field feedback indicates a number of vehicles have experienced input speed sensor codes P0716 and P0717. This can be caused by the twenty-way transmission connector not being fully seated at the transmission.
Reseat the 20-way connector. If proper seating of this connector does not correct the condition, please follow normal diagnostics for the DTC.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
