CHECK GAGES | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the CHECK GAGES indicator based on a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM). The BCM will command the CHECK GAGES indicator ON when the following occurs:
The CHECK GAGES indicator displays in the IPC whenever any of the above listed conditions are present. If the CHECK GAGES indicator illuminates when the fuel gage and coolant temperature are operating normally, check for the proper operation of the BCM. | ||||||||

SHIFT INDICATOR | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the shift indicator when the powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the vehicle should be shifted to the next higher gear. The IPC receives a class 2 message originating from the PCM via the body control module (BCM) requesting illumination. | ||||||||
