This bulletin supersedes bulletin 88-WA-13 dated 7/88. This bulletin is being updated to advise dealers to resubmit claims within 30 days.
Due to problems at the Corporate Claims Center, dealers may receive debits on transportation claims due to damage not being noted on carriers delivery receipt (debit reason R).
Dealers who receive debits for clear receipts must resubmit claims within 30 days from date of debit. (disregarding error 73) Claims resubmitted after 30 days will not be recredited to dealer. After resubmitting claim, dealer should send all claim documentation, including legible copy of dealer's delivery receipt, showing damage noted, to Central Office, Attention Frank Redman. Dealer should receive credit within the next 3 credit memos.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
