SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON THE RIGHT FRONT CARPET WET DUE TO WATER LEAK BETWEEN AIR INLET SCREEN AND WINDSHIELD.
WATER LEAKING BETWEEN THE AIR INLET SCREEN AND WINDSHIELD ENTERS THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT THROUGH THE HVAC AIR INLET STACK ASSEMBLY.
FOR BUICK, OLDSMOBILE AND PONTIAC:
1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS, REFER TO SECTION 8E OF THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL.
2. REMOVE AIR INLET SCREEN, REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL.
3. TRIM ENOUGH WINDSHIELD URETHANE TO INSTALL SEALING STRIP, (REFER TO FIGURE 1).
4. REMOVE BACKING PAPER FROM SEALING STRIP, P/N 22639153, AND INSTALL SEALING STRIP, (REFER TO FIGURE 1).
5. INSTALL AIR INLET SCREEN, REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL.
6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS, REFER TO SECTION 8E OF THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL.
1. REMOVE RIGHT WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM, REFER TO SECTION 8E OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
2. REMOVE RIGHT AIR INLET SCREEN, REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
3. TRIM ENOUGH WINDSHIELD URETHANE TO INSTALL SEALING STRIP, (REFER TO FIGURE 2).
4. REMOVE BACKING PAPER FROM SEALING STRIP, P/N 22639153, AND INSTALL SEALING STRIP, (REFER TO FIGURE 2).
5. REMOVE ALL BUTYL FROM WINDSHIELD, AIR INLET SCREEN AND DASH EXTENSION.
6. APPLY BUTYL TO RIGHT AIR INLET SCREEN, REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
7. INSTALL RIGHT AIR INLET SCREEN, REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
8. INSTALL RIGHT WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM, REFER TO SECTION 8E OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE ON OCTOBER 31, 1994.
