The replacement of the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) will require that the SDM part number be relearned by the body control module (BCM). The following procedures are designed to setup the SDM correctly and must be performed.

Important:

•	The Air Bag indicator may illuminate and DTC B1001 may set during the BCM reprogramming procedure.

•	Use the 10-minute relearn procedure when programming the theft deterrent system.

With a scan tool, perform the Clear Manufacturer Enable Counter special function.
With a scan tool, perform the Setup SDM Part Number in BCM special function.
If DTC B1001 is set current.

•	Program the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration.

•	Program the theft deterrent system. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components.

Clear any DTCs.
Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle.
