Removal Procedure

    Caution: In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the door pillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key when performing service in the area of the SIS.


    Object Number: 1378608 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear door lower speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  3. Remove the check link bolts at the hinge pillar.

    4. Object Number: 1378610 Size: SH
  4. Remove the check link nuts from the door frame.
  5. Remove the check link from the door through the speaker opening.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1378610 Size: SH
  1. Install the check link to the door frame.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the nuts to the check link.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the check link bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the rear door lower speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
