Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Disconnect the HO2S 2 harness connector (3).
Important: Silicone based products will contaminate the HO2S. DO NOT use products containing silicone on or near the HO2S.
- Use a liquid penetrate before removing the sensor.
- Remove the HO2S 2 (2) from the exhaust pipe.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Silicone based products will contaminate the HO2S. Use only a nickel based anti-seize
compound that does not contain silicone.
- Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the HO2S 2.
Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the HO2S 2 (2).
Tighten
Tighten the HO2S 2 to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Connect the HO2S 2 harness connector (3). Push in the connector until a click is heard, then pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
- Ensure the HO2S 2 harness pigtail connector is secure to the chassis.
