This PI is being revised to remove the word Intermittent from the title line, and the Condition\Concern section. Please discard PIT3708.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
No crank, no start and the BCM/CLSTR fuse is open. The BCM/CLSTR fuse will go open when the park lamps are turned on, or the key fob is used to lock or unlock the doors.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect circuit #8 (Grey wire) for the Interior Lights Dimming circuit for a short to ground at the back of the radio. Repair any wires that are chaffed, and then reposition the wire harness to prevent any further chaffing.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
