Headlamp Bulb Replacement Equinox

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Object Number: 1344377 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fascia to tie bar push-in retainers (1).

    3. Object Number: 1344341 Size: SH
  3. Gently pull the top of the fascia assembly several inches away from the vehicle to release the radiator grille strap from the headlamp.
  4. Place a piece of tape over the radiator grille strap to headlamp retaining clip to prevent scratching of the headlamp lens.

    5. Object Number: 1344345 Size: SH
  5. Remove the headlamp bolts (1, 2).

    6. Object Number: 1344346 Size: SH
  6. Pull gently on the bottom outboard corner of the headlamp to disengage the lower rear headlamp retainer.
  7. Remove the headlamp from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1344347 Size: SH
  1. Position the headlamp into the headlamp opening.

    2. Object Number: 1326738 Size: SH
  2. Push the headlamp back into position until the lower rear retainer is fully engaged.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the headlamp bolts (1, 2)

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the headlamp bolts to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  4. Remove the tape from the radiator grille strap retainer.

    5. Object Number: 1344341 Size: SH
  5. Position the fascia assembly and engage the radiator grille strap retainer into the headlamp.

    6. Object Number: 1344377 Size: SH
  6. Install the fascia to tie bar push-in retainers (1).
  7. Close the hood.
  8. Check and adjust the front headlamp aim after the headlamp has been reinstalled. Refer to Headlamp Aiming .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Lower the corner of the front fascia which the headlamp will be removed from. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

Headlamp Mounting Bolts (Qty: 2)

Tighten
4 N·m (56 lb in)

Headlamp Ball Socket Locator Pin

  1. Pull from the bottom of the headlamp forward in order to release the headlamp locator pin from the front outer corner of the body rail.
  2. Disconnect the forward lamp harness electrical connector to the headlamp being serviced.

Headlamp Assembly

Check and adjust the front headlamp aim after the headlamp has been reinstalled. Refer to Headlamp Aiming .
