Remove the liftgate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .

Liftgate Strut Rod

Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .

Liftgate Hinge Nut (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tip
Mark the location of the liftgate hinges to the body with a grease pencil.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Liftgate Assembly

Tip

1. Disconnect the liftgate wiring connectors.
2. Disconnect the rear washer hose.
3. Pull the liftgate wiring grommet, the connectors and the rear washer hose out of the rear header.
4. Remove the liftgate from the vehicle with an assistant, and place the outside face down on a clean, padded surface.
