Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement .
3. Remove the center trim bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement .
4. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
5. Disconnect the range selector lever cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Bracket Replacement .
6. Disconnect the transmission control electrical connector.

Transmisssion Control Nut (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
