Compass Is Inoperative Or Missing (US Built Only) - keywords cluster DIC IPC

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

This concern will only apply to vehicles built for the U.S. A customer may complain that their compass is inoperative or missing on an Equinox with the 2LT package or the base model Torrent (non GXP). The order guide for these vehicles shows they should have a compass in the DIC. This information was incorrect. As of 10/01/07 All Torrent's will be built with a compass in the DIC. At this time there has been no change to the Equinox with the 2LT package.

Do not try to repair this concern. Customer with the affected vehicles will be refunded $50 through (CAC) Customer Assistance Center. The MSRP will be adjusted to reflect correct price. If the customer's are demanding a compass they will have to go through our accessory parts to come up with alternative options that may not be part of the DIC.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
