Removal Procedure
- Remove the plastic nut cover (1) from the wiper arm (3).
- Remove the following components from the windshield wiper transmission:
Important: Before you remove the windshield wiper arm, place the wipers in the park position and note its location for proper installation.

Installation Procedure
- Install the windshield wiper arm (3) to the windshield wiper transmission. Secure the arm with the nut (2).
- Install the plastic nut cover (1) to the wiper arm (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the windshield wiper arm nut to 20.5 N·m (15 lb ft).
